Pros: Unbeatable range of motion Lightweight Outstanding build quality Cons: Knee reinforcements can become really uncomfortable during prolonged kneeling. Waistband liner tends to slip and slide even with a belt. Charcoal pants get VERY warm in summer conditions. A water-resistant version would be an amazing edition.

Pockets need improvement. The mesh material chosen for the pockets are lightweight and breathable but keys, screws, nails or anything a little pointy get tangled in the mesh. Change the pocket material and I would give a 5/5.

The best climbing pants I've ever worn.

I've used these pants to climb and hike in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah as well as in the Subway of Zions National Park. These pants are not only bullet proof but are the most comfortable pants I've ever worn. The design gives me all of the right pockets, and the stretch truly reduced fatigue, and they dried quickly after getting wet. Karl Badger Field Editor, Top Rated Gear

just got these, climbed in them wore them around for a few days, THE most comfortable intuitive pants I have ever worn! I love the originals and the tech pants, but these blow them both away in terms of comfort and feel. Love the 4 way stretch, and the pockets are well laid out, the ability to sneak in the side of the left cargo pocket is genius as wearing a saddle usually means you are not getting into it. the reinforced knees are sweet and being able to tighten the cuff to keeps chips out is golden. I wore them thru a prickly ash cluster to get my throw-weight and they shed the sharp thorns without sweating a drop . I plan on ordering another pair and the new canopy pants for warmer months, as these are very warm even in -21c+ weather.

For mission critical assignments these are my go to pants. I can wear them on the plane, on the subway and throughout the streets of New York. The side pocket holds a phone, MTA card and some Ben Franklins. No matter how dirty or rough the assignment these pants hold up. The zippered back and front pockets add to a trim and slim look. These work best for guys who stay in shape. When you get called into action and you need to be wheels up in 30 minutes, these pants will carry the day.

Best tree pants! I have worn the same 2 pairs of these pants 5 days a week for the past 3 years. A few of the metal pieces on the zippers recently broke off and some of the stitching on the bottom of the legs started to come undone too (nothing a little hand sewing can't fix). The few rips never got worse. These pants are the sheet! Just bought 2 more, still wearing the 3yr old ones. Well worth the $$$. Keep exposed mufflers away, burned a little hole in one pair. No problem walking through jaggers. Super comfy. I could keep going on about how sweet these pants are. Good job Arborwear!

Been in the industry going on 18 yrs and have 2 pairs of the ascender pants of which is going on 5 yrs old and still going strong. Have put these pant to the test time and time again in a range of temps. From over 100°F to below 0°F. Rain, sleet, snow and shine sometime all in the same day. Most comfortable, non restrictive pants I have ever worn in the tree. Now to add there Ironwood pant to my collection for my protection!!

I wear these pants repeatedly and they still seem like they’re brand new. Unbelievably comfortable. Propels a lot of water and oil. Yes, they do burn a little with your muffler. I’ve got little Nicks where my chainsaw hangs down by my calf - that’s all they’ve ever become damaged. I’ve got four active pair and I am buying more.
Grassmyer - 06/22/2019
Very comfortable, flexible, all the pockets are awesome, knee covers are awesome for walking out, just wish they were water proof. Other than that amazing pants. Still worth it.

Where is the phone pocket? Come on guys, we need in a drop-in phone pocket. I removed the front velcro on the cargo pocket to allow me to access my phone, in-n-out, with one hand. And the signature pocket... Great in the saddle as long as you always remember to zip it up.

My brother bought me an olive pair. I have a hard time not wearing them. It annoys me that I have take them off to wash them. Buying a second pair in charcoal for ski patrol uniform compliance .

supper durable. after wearing out two pairs, it looks obvious that the side pocket zippers are the weakest links. they're right under your saddle, constantly being rubbed against. maybe design some kind of flap to protect them.
RUGGED, DURABLE CLOTHING
Our clothes are so tough, they don’t just hang out in your closet, they do chin-ups until you’re ready to wear them.
